Deepika Padukone: Tamasha is My Dream Team

Actress Deepika Padukone hopes that the team of Tamasha is able to live up to the expectations of the audience.

"There are a lot of expectations from the film. I hope we live up to all those expectations," said Deepika.

The actress was last seen in Shoojit Sircar's film Piku.

Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Tamasha also features Ranbir Kapoor.

Regarding the film, Deepika said: "Tamasha is very different from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. For me, this is a dream team.

"I have always wanted to work with Imtiaz and have Ranbir as a co-star. As the trailer has earned positive feedback, I hope the audience would enjoy the movie as much as they enjoyed Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani," said Deepika.

Tamasha is scheduled to release on November 27.

Meanwhile, Deepika is also filming Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani, which will release on December 18.

Deepika Padukone to Alia Bhatt: Bollywood actresses wish luck to Priyanka Chopra for 'Quantico'

Deepika Padukone, Anushka Sharma and Alia Bhatt seemed to have proven the old adage that 'heroines cannot be friends' wrong as they have come in support of Priyanka Chopra ahead of the premiere of her American debut TV series 'Quantico'.

The show, which will mark the actress' big break in the international showbiz circuit, will go on air today in the US. Deepika, 29, who will be seen sharing screen space with Priyanka in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Bajirao Mastani', took to Twitter to wish her co-star.

'Quantico' revolves around a group of young Federal Bureau of Investigation recruits, who are training at the FBI
Training Academy in Quantico, Virginia. Priyanka plays the lead character of Alex Parrish, who becomes the FBI's prime suspect.

Actress Preity Zinta tweeted she saw the first episode of the show and was proud of the 'Gunday' star. "Back after seeing the first episode of #Quantico & @priyankachopra you have killed it babe. So happy for you & so proud."

"Enjoy the butterflies @priyankachopra for #Quantico is about to explode for us... You've already ARRIVED! India is
proud of you! Go get them," Sushmita Sen said.

Priyanka replied, "Thank u so much @thesushmitasen You've been my fave since you won miss universe at 18! I remember your cut out on my wall."

Sushmita, 39, replied it was time for Priyanka to "rule". "And I love the 18 year old I met with a beaming smile and a courageous heart... Time to share both with the world... And rule!"

Actress Bipasha Basu shared a picture of Billboards filled with Priyanka's show, and captioned, "Shine like a Diamond... #Quantico! Super proud and happy for you!"

'Quantico' will premiere in India on October 3 on Star World and Star World Premiere.

Tamasha trailer: Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor's crackling chemistry is back with a bang

There's something about Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. They may have other partners in real life (and stellar ones at that) but when you put them together in one frame, you can feel their chemistry sitting in a desk all the way in your offices.

It's this exact chemistry that was the hero in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani  and it's the same chemistry that is twisted around two different characters this time in Imtiaz Ali's Tamasha.

In the trailer, Ranbir Kapoor's character Ved meets Mona Darling (Deepika Padukone) in faraway France, and he falls for her free-spirited nature (no surprises there). Everything is breezy and fun while the two of them are in Corsica, amid laughs, songs and beautiful scenic backgrounds.

But upon returning back to reality, Ved returns to his routine, and that's when the cracks appear in their relationship.

It's a story we've all heard before, and that is something Imtiaz Ali acknowledges in the trailer. "Why always the same story?" it asks.

Perhaps Tamasha is trying to decode relationships. And what better way than to have ex lovers to do so? It's the actors' personal past that possibly brings that extra edge to their performances. Either that or Imtiaz Ali just brings out the best in both actors.

Meanwhile, we only get to hear strains of AR Rahman's music, which is a bit of a travesty.  Tamasha is set to release on 27 November.

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone's adorable chemistry shines in the official first look of Tamasha, which was unveiled today. In the poster of the Imtiaz Ali-directed film, the duo, who dated each other for a year, is seen laughing with their arms around each other.
As they take a stroll along a lane, various characters from mythology and romantic stories provide the intriguing background, bearing a tagline - "Why always the same story?".
The images of these characters were shared by Imtiaz in a teaser poster along with a little poem few days ago.

Ranveer Singh: I will wait a lifetime for Deepika Padukone

Actor Ranveer Singh says he is willing to wait for his rumoured girlfriend Deepika Padukone for a lifetime. "She is so beautiful that I would wait all my life for her," Ranveer said at a promotional event of Bajirao Mastani in Pune where Deepika was also present.

When asked whether she too would be willing to wait for a lifetime for him, Deepika says, "What? You have to ask him in what context he said that. Wait at a restaurant... or..." The 30-year-old actor said it was just a joke before adding, "It was one of those random, smart, wisecracks which I cracked by saying 'she is so beautiful that I will wait all my life for her'. You guys waited since morning for us. So if you ask me I would say she is so gorgeous that I would wait for her all my life."
To this, Deepika interrupted saying, "I don't understand English at this point." Deepika, who has earlier worked with Ranveer in Ram Leela and will next be seen with him in Bajirao Mastani, says that she has not seen any change in him as a person. "As a person I think he is the same... same energy and same enthusiasm, same protectiveness and same warmth. As a person he has not changed," the 29-year-old actor said.

However, she feels that as an actor Ranveer has grown a lot. "As an actor he has grown tremendously after Band Baaja Baarat. Ram Leela was a defining point in his career. He can do a film like Band Baaja Baarat, Lootera, Ram Leela, Dil Dhadakane Do, he plays different kind of characters convincingly on screen," she said .

Deepika Padukone Hikes Her Fee by Rs 2 Crore to Endorse a Bank?

If sources are to be believed, Deepika Padukone has turned pricey. The actress is said to have hiked her fee by nearly Rs 2 crore to continue as the brand ambassador of a leading private sector bank, which had signed her on last year.

An industry insider says, "Deepika's contract was recently extended by 18 months for which she demanded Rs 5.5 crore. That's a hike of about Rs 2 crore."

The actress is currently enjoying her time in the sun, says another source and adds: "Therefore, an increase in her endorsement fee is well justified." 

Deepika was not available for comment while a source close to her says, "Yes, she has renewed her contract with the bank, but as far as the money part is concerned, we are not keen to get into the details. An annual hike in fee is standard procedure for all stars and it's got nothing to do with her recent success at the box office."

Her spokesperson says, "She has never commented on numbers and would refrain from doing so even now."

Hold your breath: Kangana Ranaut just confirmed she is 'katti' with Deepika Padukone

That title may be a bit childish, but they're the exact words used by Kangana Ranaut in relation to her upcoming film Katti Batti and her rumoured rival Deepika Padukone.

We've been reading stories about their rift since early this year. It all started with an awards ceremony and Deepika's acknowledgment that the Best Actress award (which was awarded to her) should have been given to Kangana.

In a recent interview with critic Rajeev Masand, Kangana Ranaut, along with co-star Imran Khan and director Nikhil Advani (of Katti Batti), the Queen actress was at her unfiltered best.Some called it a PR stunt, some called it a way for Deepika to reach out to Kangana, but it has opened up a Pandora's box of miscommunication. What followed were a series of rumours, cryptic messages from both stars and a buzzing rumour mill.

While playing a little game of holding up a card of either Katti or Batti for people from the industry, she held up the Katti card for Deepika Padukone. Without blinking an eyelid.

We can't say that we are surprised. However, Kangana's nonchalance towards the issue was the surprise element.

"I just want to be left alone," she said, upon being asked about why she held up the Katti card.

During the interview, she mentioned several times, that "some people" need to mind their own business and stop meddling in her life.

Deepika Padukone, Now Among Highest-Paid, Wasn't Given Pocket Money

Deepika Padukone, who is one of the highest paid actresses of Bollywood, says she does not understand monetary investments as her father, former badminton champion Prakash Padukone, manages her finances.

Deepika, 29, revealed on the sidelines of an event that she was never given pocket money as a child.

"My father takes care of my investments so I don't know much about it (where and how the money is invested). I am not too much of a tech person. I don't understand what apps are about. I prefer clicking pictures and then printing them and putting them in album," Deepika told reporters here.

"I give money to my father and he takes good care of it. When I was small, I did not get pocket money," she added.

Deepika has been busy shooting Tamasha in which she stars opposite Ranbir Kapoor. The film will hit theatres on November 27. This year, she will also be seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Bajirao Mastani, which also stars Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra.

She then makes him give out the Instagram details but Ranbir manages that, while DP cannot control her laughter. Even her Facebook caption takes a dig at RK saying "Clearly our friend here doesn't know much about social media!"
